Aklan looking for investors on bridge connection to Boracay

E-mail Print PDF

BORACAY ISLAND, Aklan - The Aklan provincial government is looking for investors to connect this resort island to the mainland province through a bridge.

Aklan Governor Carlito Marquez said the bridge construction is not impossible if the provincial government is determined to carry it out.

The plan has already been included in the priority list of the Aklan Provincial Planning and Development Office and will be offered to interested investors.

"The dream to connect Boracay island to Aklan province is not impossible if all the sectors would be united for this plan," Marquez said.

One of the challenges in realizing the planned Boracay bridge is the lack of funds needed for the construction.

This resort island has recently been named second best beach in the country by the CNN Travel.*PNA
