New Lucena town hailed 'orally-fit'

Hailed already as one of the most child friendly municipality in the country, New Lucena was recently recognized as the region’s most orally-fit community by the Department of Health in line with the celebration of the Oral Health Month. 

The DOH also awarded the Day Care Center of Brgy. Bitaog Gaja in said town as the region’s orally-fit daycare center. 

For its campaign on the promotion of oral health among daycare children, New Lucena became the representative of the region for the OFC Award in Pasay City recently.

The municipality of Anilao also represented the region as the Garantisadong Pambata Champ of Western Visayas.

The Local Government Unit of Anilao was recognized for its effort in the implementation of the GP program which covers routine immunization, Vitamin A supplementation, and deworming of children under six years old.

The GP and the OFC awards were in partnership with the National Center for Health and Promotion and the National Center for Disease Prevention and Control.*
