Two violators were nabbed during the first day of the implementation of the absolute gun ban in Western Visayas in line with the 2012 midterm elections.
Arrested were Roberto Norilla of San Fernando village in San Jose, Antique and Florentino Pepito of Barangay Mabili, Banate, Iloilo, a report from the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO 6) disclosed.
Norilla was arrested after police authorities from the San Jose Police Station saw the firearm bulging on his waist morning of Sunday and failed to present pertinent documents.Â
Seized from his possession was a caliber .22 revolver (Smith and Wesson) with no serial number and with three cartridges on its cylinder.
Pepito, on the other hand, was arrested while inside the public market of Banate, Iloilo also on Sunday morning. He was carrying caliber .38-homemade revolver with three live ammunition.
Both are now detained in the respective lock up cells of two local police stations.*PNA
