For two straight years, the Iloilo City Treasurer’s Office was recognized as excellent in Western Visayas by the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) Region 6 based on a letter sent by BLGF OIC regional director Melba Sullivan to Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog. 

“Once again, the City Treasurer’s Office under the leadership of Katherine Tingson was the recipient of the Excellence Award for its continued excellent performance in the treasury service for two consecutive years of 2010-2011,” Sullivan wrote Mabilog. 

“It may be worth mentioning also that the City Treasurer’s Office was awarded as one of the best 5S (Sort, Systematize, Sweep, Standardize, and Self-discipline) implementers among city treasury offices in the region,” she added. 

The awarding was made during the Annual Pre-planning and Year-End Reassessment Performance Conference-Workshop of provincial, city and municipal assessors and treasurers and their ranking personnel held at the Grand Hotel here Dec. 3-6, 2012. *JVF/ICPIO
