Only three members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) of Iloilo City and two members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Iloilo registered perfect attendance in the regular sessions held in 2012.

In Iloilo City, among those with perfect attendance in the 48 sessions from January to December 2012 were Floor Leader Joshua Alim and councilors Ely Estante, Jr. and Perla Zulueta.

Councilor R. Leone Gerochi follows at 47 sessions; Councilors Rodel Agado, Plaridal Nava and Nielex Tupas at 46 sessions.

The other councilors and the number of sessions attended are: Lyndon Acap, Jason Gonzales and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) President Sheen Marie Mabilog, 45 sessions; David Raymundo Jamora, 44; Edward Yee, 43; Jeffrey Ganzon, 42; former Liga ng mga Barangay president Roberto Divinigracia (until Nov. 28), 41; and Vice Mayor Jose Espinosa, 39.

In the province of Iloilo, First District Board Member Macario Napulan and Second District Board Member June Mondejar attended all the 28 sessions of the SP-Iloilo.

The others with high attendance records are Vice Gov. Richard Garin, First District Board Member Gerardo Flores and Second District Board Member Demetrio Sonza at 27 sessions.

The others are: Fourth District BM Shalene Hidalgo, 26; Third District BMs Licurgo Tirador and Manuel Gallar, 25; PCL president Suzette Alquisada, 23; SK President Charmine Devicente, 21; Fifth District BM Jett Rojas, 20; Liga president Jeneda Salcedo, 17; Fourth District BM Hernan Biron, Jr., 15; and Fifth District BM Nielo Tupas, 14.

Tupas’s absences were mostly due to official business and vacation leave.

For his part, Mondejar, chairman of the Committee on Appropriation said attending the sessions has been his priority since he became a board member in 2007.

“I have never sacrificed my responsibility to attend the sessions. My good health has been instrumental for my perfect attendance. I have sacrificed other concerns. In short, attending the session is a priority among priorities,” he said.*
