Organizing seminars can be a lucrative business, "double cropping" if we go by the trick of Donya Buding, a key pillar of Nonoy Art's Reporma kag Pagbag-o.
She is at it again, though she's still fresh from her caper of having been caught red handed in the controversial special deposit of P50 million, where the initial interest of 4% went down to 3% without the knowledge of Noy Art. The deducted 1% was funneled to a deposit account in the same bank named to Donya Buding's daughter.
This time, her racket is in seminars. The seminars are already funded by the LGU but for some reasons, the organizers (she, her partner Tsinoy sounding name Golf Tiao, etc.) still charges participants registration fee to cover for meals and hotel at P1,000 a day.
She sent 10 employees from her office to attend a three day seminar April 25 – 27. Of course, the organizers (read: she, Golf Tiao and company) received the registration fee of P3,000 per person.
Nothing wrong with that. Only that the registration started after lunch of April 25 and the seminar was finished on the 26th. The supposed last day, the 27th, was free day, meaning the organizers no longer had the obligation to pay for food and accommodation.
No wonder, almost one year to the election of 2013, people are still wondering where did the promised Reporma kag Pagbag-o go.
