An insider at the Iloilo City Hall revealed that the 3,000 or more job hire employees of the city government are set to appear before Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog and give their pledge of support to him in the May 13, 2013 elections. The insider said that the job orders of those who will not support Mabilog will not be renewed.

In a recent radio interview, Mabilog admitted this. He was heard saying, "I am their boss, so they should follow me."
