E-mail Print PDF

A lending firm collector was robbed of P25,000 cash and his mobile phone in broad daylight at a populated area of San Juan St., Molo, Iloilo City yesterday.

According to Molo Police Officer 3 (PO3) Jonathan Tolentino, victim Jonathan Alvarez, 24, of ASA Philippine Foundation just came from collecting the dues of a client in the area at around 1:00 p.m. when the robber accosted him.

When Alvarez resisted, the robber shot him, hitting him on the arm.

The gunman, with his loot, fled and boarded a waiting motorcycle driven by his cohort.

Several residents who witnessed the incident were helpless in fighting off the armed suspect.

A resident who has a motorcycle shortly brought Alvarez to Iloilo Doctors’ Hospital.

Meanwhile, Tolentino said that they already have leads on the suspects.*
