E-mail Print PDF

The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) has urged business establishments in Western Visayas to go green by adopting environment-friendly practices.

RTWPB Board Secretary Nesa Nolido said that aside from improving productivity, mitigating the impact of climate change is also part of the Green My Enterprise program of their office in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment.

Nolido, during a Regional Coordinating Council press conference said that just last October, 13 members of the Iloilo Hotels, Resorts and Restaurant Association participated in the Training on Green Productivity.

The establishment were trained on techniques from simple good housekeeping to design change, from process modification to waste management through recycling and segregation at source.

“GP offers enterprises the opportunity to participate in saving the environment by adopting measures that can improve productivity and profitability but also ensures sustainability of resources,” said Nolido in a statement.

Nolido said that by managing resources, businessmen could save on their operating expenses.*
