E-mail Print PDF

Though one of the devastated areas in the province during the onslaught of Typhoon ‘Quinta’ on December last year, the municipality of Banate will still face the year with hope with the release of their calamity insurance claims from Iloilo-based company MicroEnsure Philippines last Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013.

Banate is the first municipality covered by the Triple 10 product of the company, the first retail selling product launched on November 17 last year.

The product also covers personal accident, burial assistance, fire assistance and medical reimbursement.

Meanwhile, MicroEnsure country manager William Martirez and staff of MiCentral, who saw the damage brought by the typhoon, pointed the importance of having insurance.

“It is designed especially for the poor as a protection against risks brought by disasters,” he said, adding this would help them rebuilt their homes and lives.*
