Residents of Brgy. No. 4 in Igbaras, Iloilo were recently trained on fire safety, prevention and suppression to ensure they are ready to respond in cases of fire.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection 6, the activity was the first barangay-initiated skills enhancement training on fire safety, prevention and suppression as initiated by Brgy. No. 3 captain Milthony Bienvenido Escanlar and in cooperation with the municipal fire station.
The guest speakers were FO2 Antonio Escobido, an Igbarasnon who used to live in Brgy. No. 4, and Municipal Fire Marshall Armando Emboltorio.
Meanwhile, two personnel from Guimbal Fire Station underwent a four-day enhancement training on Complete First Aid Course and Basic Life Support Training sponsored by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Council held at Bantayan Beach Resort last Nov. 26 to 29, 2012.Â
FO1 Christy Esmaya and FO1 Jonathan Grasparil are now full-fledged members of Guimbal Responders Emergency Alert Team (GREAT) - the Municipality's first line of responders during emergencies.*
