ROXAS CITY – Around 40 members of the Capiz Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council underwent a three-day training on Basic and Intermediated Incident Command System to ensure the effective and efficient response operation at the scene level.
Capiz Police Provincial Director Domingo Cabillan, who is also the province PDRRMC vice chairperson, said the training conducted by the Office of Civil Defense in Iloilo City will be of great help to the emergency responders.Â
He said aside from the provincial team, also present were members of disaster response groups from the towns of Sigma and Sapian.
He noted that the training is timely since the province will host the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association this month.
Meanwhile, OCD Regional Director Rosario Cabrera said the training is based on Republic Act 10121 or the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010.Â
She added that Capiz is the last province that underwent the training which was participated in by representatives from the PNP, Philippine Army, Philippine Red Cross, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, volunteer groups, Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and Philippine Information Agency, among others.*PIAÂ
