NO SUPPORT, NO PDAF
Anti-Defensor bloc faces hard times
Members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan will not be given their Priority Development Assistance (PDAF) if they will not support the administration of re-elected Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr.
In an Aksyon Radyo report, Defensor said this when he was asked about the fate of those who will not support him.
Defensor’s reaction was for the BMs under the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) party like Shalene Palmares-Hidalgo of the 4th District and Jesus Salcedo, Jr. of the Fifth District.
Prior to the elections, some members of the UNA party were not given their PDAFs. They were Board Members Jett Rojas and Hidalgo.
Defensor said everybody should be united, especially those belonging to the opposition in order to ensure Iloilo Province’s well-being.
RECONCILIATION
Meanwhile, Defensor also said that he is open to a reconciliation with his rival in the gubernatorial race, Rep. Ferj Biron.
The governor said this after 4th District Congressman-elect Hernan Biron, Jr. said that he is ready to make this reconciliation possible.
He added that reconciliations after elections are normal.
But as of present, the older Biron has not expressed the same, yet.
Last May 14, Biron conceded defeat to Defensor in the elections.
He said, “I congratulate Gov. Art Defensor, Sr. for his victory. I wish him all the best. We respect the decision of the Ilonggo electorate. We thank our leaders and supporters all over the Province who risked their lives and limbs for our cause of bringing real change in Iloilo. We fought a principled fight and ran a reform-driven race... It is time to unite for the betterment of our beloved Province of Iloilo. Thank you and Good bye! God bless us all.”*
