Eleven kids ages seven to 12 years old will compete in the Iloilo Songbirds Competition for Kids today, 4 p.m. at Robinsons Place Iloilo.

This open pop singing competition among students from private and public schools has been a project of Care Giver Learning Center since 2001 and presented by Good Day Western Visayas, a show aired at Sky Cable Channel 13 (analogue), Channel 61 (digital) and Cable Star’s Channel 15.

The competition aims to enhance the musical talent of children.

This year, 50 children auditioned but only 11 were picked for the pre-finals. They are: Carmen Therese Blacer, 10, Colegio de San Jose; Noella Tolentino, 9, Iloilo Central Elem. School; Judy Khrystal Nolasco, 10, Bakhaw Elem. School; Deigne Yanzel Carado, 9, RS Academy; Carylle Anna Jarantilla, 10, Baluarte Elem. School; Gemmah Rose Gulmatico, 9, Sta. Barbara Central Elem. School; Mary Claudette Claire Ampatin, 12, St. Joseph School; Samantha Shyra Alvarado, 9, Bakhaw Elem. School; Elaisha Pomida, 10, St. Joseph School; Nina Angela Altura, 10, Queen of Heaven Mission School;  and Alessandra Alasian, 10, CISAT.*
