To promote the use of bicycles for a cleaner and greener environment, the Road Revolution founded and spearheaded by acclaimed environmentalist Atty. Antonio Oposa Jr. will hold a lecture-forum on Feb. 18, 2012.
The 2009 Magsaysay Awardee aims to change the mindset of the many Filipinos, urging them to organize and come up with initiatives to turn the road in favor of the pedestrians.
Following the principle “those who have less in wheels must have more in road” RoadRev promotes the use of bicycles and walking to enable a cleaner, greener and healthier alternative for road use.
In line with the issue on global warming and climate change, RoadRev brings awareness to lessen our carbon footprint by simply taking heed at the possibility of coming up with initiatives in alternative road use.
MISSION ILOILO (Movement of Imaginals for Sustainable Societies through Initiatives, Organizing, and Networking) facilitates small-group discussions and workshop activities, which will enable sharing and networking of similar initiatives among the various participants - over 4,000 academic leaders, student leaders and environment advocates from Iloilo City and the surrounding provinces.
The talk will be held at Victory Christian Fellowship Church, beside SM City Iloilo from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and admission is free. For more information, please contact: Frances Lacuesta 09157658047 or 09176388863.*
