Hunt on for judge's killer

The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) organized a task group to run after the assasins of a judge in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

Dubbed as Task Group "Arles", this special investigation team will look into the motives behind the killing of Judge Henry D. Arles, presiding judge of RTC, Branch 61 in Kabankalan City and to arrest of the suspects.

Arles was shot by riding-in tandem suspects about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at the National Road at Brgy. Manalad, Ilog, Negros Occidental where he lived temporarily at the house of his brother-in-law, Lawrence Britanico.

Arles was a resident of Brgy. Alijis, Bacolod City.
Negros Occ. PNP reported that Arles was driving his car (Nissan Sentra) bearing plate number 16-F61 going to Brgy. Dancalan, Ilog, Negros. Occ. when he was shot by the suspects.

Arles was brought to Southern Doctors' Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician about 7:45 p.m. of the same day.

Three empty shells of caliber .45 pistol were recovered from the crime scene.

Chief Superintendent Cipriano E. Querol, Jr., director of PRO-6, said he already told the director of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office to provide security to Arles’ family.

Querol believed that the incident could be work-related, though he also directed the Task Group to look into other possible angles of the killing.

"As a Judge, it is not remote that he (Arles) could have aggrieved some parties in his decisions," the top cop said.

Querol ordered the Senior Superintendent Allan Guisahan, commander of Task Group "Arles" to hasten the investigation, especially on the identification and arrest of the suspects. (PO3 Francisco Lindero, Jr.)
