An Italian business delegation visited the country to explore investment and business opportunities in the country.
According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, the visit was facilitated by the Philippine Embassy in Rome, in partnership with Confindustria, Italy’s largest organization representing manufacturing and services centers and the Department of Trade and Industry.
The business delegation, said DFA, is composed of 24 Italian companies and business associations representing various sectors such as infrastructure, energy and retail, among others.
The delegation will be headed by Confindustria Vice President Paolo Zegna, who is also the President of Ermenegildo Zegna S.p.A, internationally famous for its elegant Zegna line of clothing.
The group met with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Italian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, and the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines.
The delegation also has briefings with the Board of Investments, Bureau of Export Trade Promotions, Philippine Economic Zone Authority, and the Public-Private Partnership Center.
The business mission was organized as part of the commemoration of this year’s 65th Anniversary of the establishment of Philippines-Italy diplomatic relations, and in response to the policy decision recently made by the Italian Foreign Ministry to prioritize the new emerging economies of ASEAN in its economic diplomacy approach.*
