NegOr adopts new system in teachers

DUMAGUETE CITY– The Department of Education (DepEd) division of Negros Oriental will have a new system in the ranking of teachers to level the playing field between hardworking teachers and those who have doctorate and masteral degrees.

DepEd division superintendent of schools Dr. Salustiano Jimenez said the new system enables everybody, especially hardworking teachers and top performers of the division to be ranked first.

He said that whenever ranking is being done, those who are doing their best are usually left behind including the principals who have accomplished so much for their districts with no time for schooling while those with masteral degrees are pursuing their studies.

Jimenez, however, made it clear the academic requirement will still be part and parcel of the ranking system but is not the only gauge in determining the rank of a teacher in urging them to push through with their professional development.* PNA
