PAN-AY, Capiz – Foreign and local tourists were invited to visit this town and celebrate the religious and municipal fiesta dubbed "Lingga-Anay Festival 2012" Pan-ay Mayor Dante Bermejo said the celebration started last May 1 and will highlight today.
This year's theme "Synergy of nature and culture for sustainable development" stresses the need to harmonize culture and nature to guide the local government in its effort to preserve its cultural heritage and at the same time, conserve its natural resources.
"We want Pan-ayanons to be aware of this responsibility to make them part of this worthy endeavor," said Bermejo.
Highlight of today's culmination of activities are the Grand Parade participated by various sectors and the Lingga-Anay Fireworks Display at the public plaza, 7 p.m.
Other activities since May 1 were LGU Night, Product Expo, Koronasyon sang Reyna; and Rock sa Panay.
The Sta. Monica Church in Pan-ay houses the largest bell in Asia and has been a prime tourist attraction of the town.*
