All departments at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol will be celebrating their Christmas Party on Wednesday thus, Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. reminded the supervisors to make it simple out of empathy to the victims of Typhoon Pablo in Mindanao.
He added, instead of spending money, they can opt to share their extras to the typhoon victims in Compostela Valley and Davao Oriental.
Also yesterday, the Iloilo Provincial Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative has launched “Alay na Tulong sa Comval” to provide relief goods and used clothing to the typhoon victims.

Meanwhile, the P 2-million proposed financial assistance of the Iloilo Provincial Government to Mindanao for its rehabilitation program has been approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) yesterday during their last special session for this year.
President Benigno Aquino III has been declared the area under a state of calamity due to the destruction brought by Typhoon Pablo two weeks ago.
Defensor and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) has approved that, through the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC), they will extend P 1 million each for Compostela Valley and Davao Oriental.
Defensor said the money will be taken from the 2012 Annual Budget fund of PDRRMO.
Under the Commission on Audit’s circular no. 2012-002, the release and use of the Local Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (LDRRM) fund shall be supported by the local Sanggunian resolution and the declaration of State of Calamity for Quick Response Fund (QRF).*
