BACOLOD CITY – Six members of the Alferez Group, along with the six other unidentified men who robbed the Central Negros Electric Cooperative main office of P3.6 million cash last March 2, were charged for robbery-in-band Friday.
Named in the case filed before the City Prosecutor’s Office were Gerlado Saniel “alias Gagang” and Roel Remedios, “alias Yoyong” both of Molave, Zamboanga del Sur; Richard Dagoman “alias Tangkad” of Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur; Ruel Alvarez of Tangub City, Misamis Occidental; Reynaldo Bacolod “alias Toto” of Las Piñas City; and Joseph Calarmo of Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.
The suspects are reportedly part of the breakaway group of the Kuratong Baleleng Gang.
Ceneco assistant manager Edwin Montemayor filed the charges before the office of City Prosecutor Gwendolyn Jimenea-Tiu.
Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz, city police director, said they have secured affidavits from 10 witnesses that they submitted as among the evidence.
“We will wait for the release of the arrest warrants,” he said.
De la Paz said photographs of the suspects will be posted in public places and on the official Facebook page of the Bacolod City Police.
Last week, the Ceneco board headed by its president Arnel Lapore offered a P300,000 cash reward for anyone who can provide information on the whereabouts of the robbery suspects.*NLG
