The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Iloilo City urged eligible voters to register during the satellite registrations set in various venues at the six districts of this city.
Iloilo City Comelec Election Assistant II Jonathan Sayno said the satellite registration is part of their preparation for the 2013 elections.
"In the city, we have already established satellite registrations where we will be going to the different districts of the city to reach out to our prospective registrants," said Sayno, in a radio interview.
Registrations are scheduled as follows: Molo – May 8 to 21 at Fundidor Gym; Mandurriao – May 22 to June 1 at Onate-De Leon Barangay Hall; Jaro – June 22 to June 26 at ABC Hall, Plaza Jaro; Lapaz – June 27 to July 27 at ABC Hall, Lapaz Plaza; and Lapuz – July 9 to 17 at Bo. Obrero Gym.
Registration at Arevalo District was held last April 26 to May 7.
The registration is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p., from Mondays to Saturdays including holidays.
However, Sayno clarified that there will be no registration at the City Comelec Office if the satellite registration is going on.
Requirements are one valid ID with the name and present address of the voter. Those who do not have an ID can bring a registered voter who can vouch for his identity.
